The Women in Finance Initiative's mission is to educate, support, mentor, and empower undergraduate women exploring careers in finance. The program fosters a strong community of students, alumni, faculty, and employer partners through career education, networking, and mentorship, creating a lifelong network that supports women throughout their careers.

Community is the foundation of WiF. We host weekly open sessions where students can hear from alumnae and peers about their careers, co-ops, and internships, build skills like resume writing and interviewing, and connect with the broader WiF network. Beyond weekly meetings, we bring members together through bonding events and community service throughout the semester.

WiF offers two mentorship programs designed to support students at every stage. Peer Mentorship pairs underclassmen with upperclassmen — a chance to build an early connection, get advice from someone a few steps ahead, and navigate college life with a guide who's been there. Professional Mentorship pairs upperclassmen with WiF alumnae — giving students direct access to honest career guidance from industry professionals.

Career Education is a cohort-based weekly program for students who want to go beyond the classroom and explore the full landscape of finance careers. During sessions members learn about roles across sell-side, buy-side, corporate finance, strategy, and beyond — and hear directly from alumnae working in those fields. This cohort is designed for students who want to find the right path and build the knowledge to get there.

Skills Development is a cohort-based weekly program for students who want to develop technical financial skills. Members build hands-on proficiency in Excel, three-statement financial modeling, DCF valuations, stock research, stock pitching, and more. This cohort is designed for students who want to build a strong financial foundation.

Each year, WiF takes students to New York City for our flagship Trek — visiting corporate offices, connecting with alumnae, and getting an inside look at what careers in finance actually look like. The NYC Trek is our most sought-after program and a defining experience for WiF members. We also run local Boston treks throughout the semester, giving students access to employers and alumnae closer to home.
Your contribution helps us expand programming, fund treks, and create more opportunities for the next generation of women in finance.
